ELEANORE

A ROCK BAND?

OUR LABEL

From the beginning, Eleanore has been a band which harnesses the progressive-rock musicianship of its three members in strict service of coy pop songs. Eleanore flirts with elements of contrast: boy and girl; simple and complex; dissonance and consonance. Inspired by her recent gender transition, transgender singer/guitarist Astrid Lyre set out to create overtly heartfelt and honest songs without coming across as saccharine. Showing influence by Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and the Dirty Projectors, Eleanore's jagged chords and harmonic experimentation delve into depression and a longing for lost love.

A nod to the classic power trio, Eleanore is concise, intense and deliberate; indeed, with the odd time signatures, the quirky guitar licks and the soaring yet strange melodies, the songs speak firmly to the constant evolution of the art-rock music genre.
